This fine monument, one of the tallest so far seen in Bangladesh amongst the dozens, even hundreds, during the 19th Century, is an astonishing site, dominating the surrounding farmlands.
Whilst clearly a temple, with intact Shiva Lingam within, the towering steeple is so constructed with gaps in the cover that we must speculate on the reason. Today, green parrots seem to be the primary occupants of what looks very like a purpose built Dovecote, but it seems reasonable to suppose that might, indeed have been apart of the original purpose.
